Best Toys To Get For 1,2 and 3 year old Toddler

Birthday Ideas For Toddlers

Now that my son is three I thought it would be helpful to other parents to see what is a good idea to get for each birthday or stage of development. Some things you buy are a waste of time and I found for my son that the ball pit was something we never really go much use out of. The toys I am showing we still use now three years later!

1st Birthday Present Ideas

Ride On Toy

For my sons first birthday we decided to get him a ride on toy and it was the best toy we could of got for him. He is now three and still plays on it as does his friends when they come. I would never have thought we would have got three years out of it! And it was not a very pricey toy. There are some ride on cars that are slightly smaller which is better for a one year old. We got this thomas one from argos and it encourages them to use there hands and feet. Honestly a great first birthday gift!

My son also has an obsession with henry the hoover! So we recently got him the Henry ride on too!

A Trike

A trike is a bike that a toddler sits on and you can push them along to the park or at home. As the toddler gets older you remove the handle to push them and it turns into a bike. I would not recommend getting the expensive ones as they are not easy to push! As the child has to keep their feet raised in order for you to push them along. Toys r us do them and I would get the basics as they make a trip to the park or a walk more fun!

2nd Birthday Present Ideas

For their second birthday gifts they are walking, more independent and I find want to copy you and play role play. They see you around the house so they want to do it all too. One of the best toys we brought is the Ikea Toy Kitchen! He plays with it every single day. If we have been out he always likes a little bit of time before bed to play on it. The hob lights up it has utensils and you can buy the pans for as little as £3. The kitchen is around £45 and really is a great gift. As the year went on we got more bits for it like the food and cups and plates. Great for keeping them busy! When I tidy my kitchen he tidy his!

For his second birthday his grandparents also good him the toy henry hoover. He loves Henry as he has a face on him and he wanted one like mummy. These are £17 and again he still gets it out now.

Another great idea for a two year old is a toy pram. They are not expensive and a doll you can purchase anywhere. Some people may say that a boy would not want a pram but I do not believe that. Having a doll made my son more gentle and understanding. As the doll needs cuddles, feeding and looking after.

This slide was also something we got the Little Tykes slides are the best as they are strong and sturdy. This is the first slide but he now needs the nest size up. They are quite pricey sometimes check your local gumtree they are often on there for sale.

3rd Birthday Gift Ideas

I cannot believe my son is now three just a few weeks ago we had a party with a bouncy castle! How time flys when your a mummy! Firstly I would say pens or pencils which you can get with grippers on from etc are great ideas. Also jigsaws so they can start using these skills for preschool. Painting and feeling the textures of paint, possibly an eagle in good fun too.

We got a bubble car in the police car as he is slightly big for his ride on cars. Its played with every day even if it rains! Defiantly lots of fun and he likes to drive it to the park.

My Hallway

Hallway Design My Hallway was very dark when we brought this house two years ago there was no natural light. This was because the front door had no glass or window and the walls were dark in colour. I went for pale grey with a blue undertone this makes the grey paint warmer. Having tiles on the floor means it can be a little cold so I did not want a cool tone of grey. I was going to use Farrow and Balls Elephants Breathe but I found this to be very dark. Although other Farrow and Ball colours I love such as Pale Powder.ere also a dark colour.  The first thing we did was change the door to one which has glass. It is enough to let the light in but still provides us with privacy.  Then we painted the stairs white as they were a very dark brown instantly this made the room feel more modern and brighter. The door handles were all gold and looked very dated and did no longer matched the grey on the walls. So we got these iconic door handles which ...

My Bathroom Nightime Product Routine

Before I share a blog post on my bathroom I thought I would share a post on my current product nightime routine. In the morning I do not have as much time so at night is when I like to properly care for my skin which is a dry skin type. The condition is sensitive this happened after having my two sons, my whole skincare range had to change after pregnancy. I like to use a cream cleanser that is very light in texture as if the cleanser is too thick in texture I do not feel clean. The foaming cleansers are good for the morning but I am a dry skin type so I don't really get on with these.  Next I use a toner and you should not use a toner which contains alcohol as this is very ageing for the skin. So due to all this I am loving the Clarins cleanser and toner, the toner is Cammomile and very gentle toner even for very sensitive skin. The cleansing milk is light in texture and great for a dry and sensitive skin. It feels very soothing on the skin. I apply these with cotton wool, ...
