Julys Home Buys

We have just finished doing our family bathroom which I will be showing soon. I wanted to share these great buys from B and M they are both for my bathroom. The sign was only £1,99 and I love it! The candle holder fits a tea light and looks so glitzy in the bathroom. This was only around £3! Sometimes the final touches make a real difference! The lavender pot was also from the store and cost £3,99 I purchased this dresser from gumtree, which here in England is a second hand website. I was just browsing when I saw this and thought it would be perfect in our kitchen once we have finished all the work on it. Its painted in Annie Sloan paint and has new handles. I am really happy with it!

My Bathroom Nightime Product Routine

Before I share a blog post on my bathroom I thought I would share a post on my current product nightime routine. In the morning I do not have as much time so at night is when I like to properly care for my skin which is a dry skin type. The condition is sensitive this happened after having my two sons, my whole skincare range had to change after pregnancy. I like to use a cream cleanser that is very light in texture as if the cleanser is too thick in texture I do not feel clean. The foaming cleansers are good for the morning but I am a dry skin type so I don't really get on with these.  Next I use a toner and you should not use a toner which contains alcohol as this is very ageing for the skin. So due to all this I am loving the Clarins cleanser and toner, the toner is Cammomile and very gentle toner even for very sensitive skin. The cleansing milk is light in texture and great for a dry and sensitive skin. It feels very soothing on the skin. I apply these with cotton wool,

How Painting Furniture Transformed My Home

By painting  some items in the home you can really transform the way that they look and bring an old pice of furniture a new life! Above I have used Crown Antique Cream to change and transform this dresser. I first started painting my garden furniture as I wanted to brighten up the garden and the table and chairs were looking quite tired. We do not get much sun here in England so its nice to add some extra colour with this paint. I did two coats of this colour by Cuprinol in Coastal Mist. Im so happy with the colour it feels very beauty and has really made the furniture look more polished. You may need to sand the wood first I did not have too. Then I wanted to paint the metal chairs and table in the garden as they were green but I wanted them to go back to white. This involved lots of sanding down then two coats of this paint below by Hammerite which I find is the best for metal. A few weeks ago I was looking for a shoe cupboard to make are hall

Scented Items For The Home

I love to keep my home smelling nice and I know it sounds mad but I actually enjoy cleaning! So here are some items that I use everyday in my home which smell wonderful! I really love Jo Malone which is easy to find here in England and they actually have a huge counter in Harrods London. I can't get enough of the roses collection I make sure every bathroom has Jo Malone Red Roses hand wash! I get so many people tell me how lovely it smells when they use it. I love in Winter time the Jo Malone Pomegranite and Noir Candle even when it is not lit it smells so nice! So I keep mini ones in downstairs toilet and bathroom. This Next candle and diffuser in apricot blossom is in my hallway and downstairs toilet. It smells sweet and gives house a nice fragrance. It is also not very expensive the candle was £3,50 and diffuser £6. I don't always light it as I have children but it still smells great. The Marks and Spencer Spray is a room mist that smells of lemon it

My Babies Nursery

Winnie Pooh Themed Nursery Here is my babies nursery I decided to do a Winnie Pooh theme and paint the room in this lovely yellow shade by Homebase called Sunlight. It is not a very large room so I thought the colour would lift and brighten the space.  The Mickey Mouse plays lullabies and hangs above my sons changing unit this is from The Disney Store. The Rabbit Mickey was a limited Easter Mickey they do this also for Christmas it was nice to get one limited at the same time he was born! The Winnie Pooh Changing mat and moses basket are both from Babies r us here in the UK. He's only 4 months but I got these from The disney Store with the little slippers for winter. I actually love them so much! £20 B and M was the nappy stacker and they do bunting to match!
